I wanted to thank everyone for participating in all of my contests over the past year and I've really enjoyed getting to know a bunch of you. I hope that continues! I also want to highlight the hard work of Chris Williams, Adam Gray, and the rest of the CF staff that works behind the scenes. When I approached them about trying something new with the contests they were very open and receptive to working with me. Thanks Chris and Adam!
Additionally, going forward instead of a CF column, Chris will link to some of my feature stories in his weekly roundup articles this fall. In response to some of your questions--Lori and I currently don't have anything actively in production past this fall collection because we poured all of our resources into producing the limited edition Pendleton blanket and we have to see how that goes. Our site will be active though the end of this year with weekly ISU feature stories + contests.
Later today I will release the conclusion to Two Linemen on my blog while next week's feature story details my hunt for a game picture of Jack Trice. Just some examples. If you know of anyone who would appreciate a limited edition heirloom blanket that shares the history of 1920s ISU football, send them our way! I will keep posting on the forums and cheering on ISU along with you.

- Eww. Congrats to Iowa.
- Hey, how about those uniforms! Really great to see actual cardinal and gold used.
- I think the I-STATE logo is a solid logo for the university as a whole. I still think the football uniforms should have some different design elements. Look at Michigan with their winged helmet history. Maybe I'll mock up some ideas...
- Call me crazy, but I don't think the team is actually THAT bad. There was marked improvement in many phases and if the offense gets healthy and imaginative, never know... we could squeak out 6 wins (Tulsa, Kansas, TCU, Texas, West Virginia, + Upset Special?) The Big 12 is not that impressive. Win at Tulsa first, though. Ha.
- How about some of those arm tackles by Irving?
- We've only seen the first team O-line for one quarter this season.
- If you had told me that the offensive line would have a bunch of third stringers in, Sam couldn't run or throw accurately due to his injury (notice how many passes sailed high?), and we had two interceptions, I wouldn't have guessed we scored 21 points still.
- Can we keep cardinal and gold as the colors?
- Really wish the trophy wasn't a corporate one. Where is the history and imagination? Other teams play for fun trophies full of history. We play for an advertisement of Iowa Corn.
- Onwards to Tulsa!
