Guess I missed this news in the past 6 weeks. Does anyone know if this means iWireless will become T-Mobile...as in branded T-Mobile service, stores and everything that goes with it? Anyone have any strong feelings about T-Mobile...good or bad? Also...I wonder if that will mean eastern Iowa will be able to sign up for Project Fi with a 319 area code since Google uses T-Mobile phone numbers during the Project Fi sign-up process?

I think they already use T-mobile towers.

I believe you are correct...hopefully it is a total re-brand and eastern Iowa gets T-Mobile service! I really don't know anyone that uses iWireless but looking at their deals it seems pretty much just like T-Mobile plans already. My interest is in trying to get Project Fi and everything I have read indicates you need to be in a T-Mobile "native" area to clear/port your number to Fi.

Accenture kicks Aureon's Ass. I would OD on Abilify before I would let Aureon own me.

I have t-mobile, it's good in Ames/ Des Moines but as soon as I head west service is terrible. I can barely find a single bar in Jefferson or Carroll. I welcome any move that increases my coverage

Anyone with knowledge of this transaction...is iWireless gone after this transaction being replaced by the T-Mobile branding? Or will this just be someone else owning iWireless with no branding changes?

Nevermind...I found the answer to my question...now I wonder if this will allow 319 numbers to register for Project Fi?

The deal will allow T-Mobile to add iWireless' 103 full-service Company stores and authorized-dealer outlets to its current network. Nearly 75,000 iWireless customers will benefit from this deal as they will get access to the complete Un-carrier benefits of T-Mobile and America's Best Unlimited Network. Following the completion of the deal, all iWireless stores will be re-branded as T-Mobile.

Might explain why the iWireless Center in Moline, IL is no longer called that.

I wondered about that too...I don't know anyone that used/uses iWireless...seemed like an odd wireless carrier for some reason? Although it turns out it is/was pretty much T-Mobile with a different name.
