Jacqueline Cordova goes in-depth of Iowa State fandom with the walking Cyclone encyclopedia, Brent Blum. Really fun show talking about how far Iowa State fans have come since the dark days of pre-McCarney football.

Enjoy!

good listen.

I remember late 90's tailgates - the student tailgating was in the "S" lots (directly south of that stadium). we thought it was awful when they moved the students across Elwood to the grass lots, but it turned out to be the best thing ever. grass is more fun to tailgate on and if you ran out of portajohns there was an entire forest of trees.

tickets were also super available, if we had friends visit we tell them not to buy tix because there would be tons of extras in the lots or near the gates, mostly for free or something nominal like 5 bucks.

Early to mid 90s student games were sometimes more competitive than inside the stadium.

Got a little sloppy as beers were shotgunned for every score, but the goddam competitive spirit was alive.

I'm sure the ghost of Meister Brau haunts the practice facility to this day.....
