Suez Canal

That ship is almost as long as the Empire State building is tall. The canal actually allows for 2 way traffic which surprised me.

They convey through with one way traffic in the two narrow sections at each end, then wait at each end or in the Great Bitter Lake. I went on a Suez canal deep dive a few months ago. I think more and more about quitting my job and sailing around the world, so these are the types of things I google at 2am on a school night.

The ships keep getting bigger anytime the canals get wider.

When the USS Iowa was designed, a condition was it fit through the Panama canal. Lock is 110 feet wide and the Iowa is 108 feet.

This is a lot of ammo for The Onion.

"Terrorists plot to use smuggled wmd delayed indefinitely."
"Global heroin supply comes to a halt, says market analyst"
"Human trafficking no longer a worry. We are now are gravely concerned about human parking says human rights activist."

I’d just like to say quickly that @dirtyninety is an idiot. Comes in to make a claim that x did not happen, someone links many articles about how x did happen, then just says dumb thing in response.

If the wind isn’t what caused that then give us a reason there hotshot!
