PIVOT!!! PIVOT!!!
They convey through with one way traffic in the two narrow sections at each end, then wait at each end or in the Great Bitter Lake. I went on a Suez canal deep dive a few months ago. I think more and more about quitting my job and sailing around the world, so these are the types of things I google at 2am on a school night.
Maybe they wait for climate change to raise the water level?????

There does not seem to be a commensurate effort to get it unstuck that the economic cost would suggest is necessary. Couple boats and one earth mover should do the trick...
