It has always seemed like Carson doesn't take bad TFL. If he's hit early, he is usually able to fall forward to at least get the yards back. 2nd and 10 is so much better than 2nd at 14.

How can a running back even tell who the free defender/hitter is? I've thought about the motion by receivers as intended more for the quarterback to determine coverages, not as something intended for a running back.
