So how bout our Receivers

What I am learning is that the Cyclone Receivers have great potential. SR is a great scrambler and having those great receivers counts for nothing. We have a lot of OLinemen that have started and have experience and we should be better. But we are Iowa State......so we will suck.....and there is no chance we will be decent.

The Hawkeyes on the other hand have receivers that suck.....but they will be great. The Hawkeyes lost a first round draft pick on the OL and their line does not look that good.....but they will be great. CJ Beathard has not shown any consistency at QB......but he will be great. The Hawkeyes lost their 2 DT's from last year and will be replaced by 2 guys that had one assisted tackle between them all of last year.....but they will be great. The LB's were slow and did not play well last year......but they will be great. And Ferentz and his staff have sucked at coaching.......but they will be great. And the Hawkeyes will lose to the Cyclones again.......but the Hawkeyes will be the better team. Do I have that right?

Why not? Our problems look real small compared to your problems. And it is interesting how you use completely different rationale when it comes to assessing the two teams.

48 players on the 2 deeps. 6 players on the Offense and 9 on the Defense have multiple BCS offers other than Iowa. 15 total out of 48 and only 8 of them are listed as starters. 8 out of 24 listed positions have multipe BCS offer players. Pathetic.

You change the subject when it suits you. Do you honestly think the Hawkeyes will beat the Cyclones this year?

I think we had great WRs last year, and it didn't make a lick of difference in W/L or scoring points. If the O-line is good this year, then yeah, the WRs could be awesome.

We did not have great receivers last year.....compared to this year. Bundrage went down on the 4th play of the season. Justin Coleman was out Jarvis West was injured much of the time. Allan Lazard was a true freshman. We got so thin at WR that took the redshirt off another true freshman during the season.

So don't try to feed us BS that our receivers were great all of last year. And then try to claim that they were great and we did not score points. We did not score points as our WR's were decimated by injuries and therefore were not great.

I haven't changed the subject once for a very long time. You've been the one who keeps mentioning Iowa in threads where people clearly want to talk about ISU. I honestly have no idea who will win the Iowa/ISU game. I think they are both going to be bad. I will predict that it will probably be a good game like it usually is.
 
I see us running with smaller line formations. Less tight ends, space the field out, get our big wide receivers out onto smaller defensive backs, and let our online do the work inside against backers that will be stretched out to cover more area. Works great if your backs hit the hole with purpose and run down hill. Angles become much easier for the front 5 when the defense is all spread out.

Coleman graduated in 2013 so he wasn't with the team last year. I think you mean Medders. Don't forget PJ Harris also. Was hurt in the Iowa game and missed the rest of the season. I think Bundrage is going to be the slot guy this year, and I am hearing good things about Orion Salters as a potential backup slot guy.

More rushing than passing until the last two years (Mariota probably had something to do with that). I'm a Sam R defender, but he can't pass us to prosperity. He needs help from blockers and runners.
