Snowblower question

I noticed after finishing my driveway that one of my tries appears to be off the rim. Can I just inflate the tire or is there something I need to do to get the wheel back onto the rim? Would these have a tube?

Hopefully you have an air compressor, because a regular pump won't help.

What I do when that happens is I hook up the air chuck from my compressor onto the tire, then lean down on the tire with my knee to push the bead of the tire against the rim to create the seal. The compressor pushes enough air in there fast enough to inflate it while I've got my weight on it.

Sometimes I have to set the tire in front of my kerosene heater for a few minutes to soften it up.

Highly doubt it, but wouldn't hurt to try. I don't think it'll pump air into the tire fast enough to force the bead up against the rim.

At worst, you can likely find a gas station that has an air chuck hooked up to their air tank used in their shop (not talking about a Quik Trip, something like a BP with a repair shop) and use that.

By off the rim, are you meaning the beads are not on the rim.i.e. the tire is floating around on the rim...still on the rim?

If the tire is still on the rim, take a rope and wrap it around the circumference of the tire and tie a knot that leaves an inch of play. Then take a large screwdriver or pipe and twist the rope while keeping it down the middle of the tire. This should move the beads to the rim to allow air to stay in the tire as you air it up. As mentioned above, it is best to use a compressor as it does make it easier. I have done it with a bike pump, but a lot harder and took a helper.

My friendly local hardware store helped me out. In the process I also screwed on the feet things on the bottom and had to replace those as well.

I forgot to check my air pressure also. Go to a tire store and get the proper tube, insert and inflate. I broke my bolt off thats holds the rim on (rust) because I did not think of buying a new tube. I blew (is that a word) snow this morning at 5 am, before going to work, with rust holding my rim and tire on my 2 stage blower. My owners manual, that I read this afternoon recommends taking the stud bolt out and the rim off every year and greasing the adjoining parts so it does not rust together. (too late now.):yes:

I wrestling mine with the help of my wife and 12 year old for 15 minutes trying this. Next time I am just going to buy a tube.

P.s. Tubes are easier I would agree!
