I'm in need of some help. I'm going to be in Chicago on the weekend of Sept 7th-8th no matter what with my wife for just a fun get-away weekend and am looking at going to the home opener Bears game against Cincinnati on September 8th. However, tickets are sold out and are going for a $170 minimum on online resale websites. For anyone who has experience with this, what do you think my best option is? Should I fork over $170+ for a couple of these tickets online or should I hold out and try to scalp tickets at the game? Also, is there even many scalpers at the Bears games? I've only been to one game before and didn't notice them (I may have easily missed them as I wasn't looking for them). If there are scalpers and I should go that route, where are they located? Do I have to worry about getting in trouble? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not going to be to much help but I will give you my two cents.

I have never been to a sporting event in Chicago where there weren't people selling tickets. Generally on your way to the stadium you hear two things, "who needs tickets?" and "anybody got extras?"

That said Opening game for the Bears is an extremely hot ticket, would check the resale sights closer to game time, maybe someone will have something come up and you can get them for cheaper. Other than that, I don't know if scalping is going to yield any worthwhile results. Sorry.

You'll probably pay a scalper more than 170 if you wait till the night of the game to get them especially the opener. I've only ever bought cubs tickets from scalpers though and it was actually for less than face.
