You can't believe the number of scalpers lurking here. When I listed my Iowa tickets a couple weeks back several of them were after them. All you have to do is look at their posting history and see that the only threads they are involved in the exchange threads low balling people trying to sell parking passes and tickets.

My therapist may be the only one who knows why this bugs me so much, but it does. Clearly, many others don't share the same level of concern.

I understand the "convenience factor," but it is hard for me to imagine that people couldn't sell their tickets at the same price offered by the scalpers to other true fans in about 10 minutes and within 100 feet of their tailgate spots.

If this thread has a redeeming value, maybe it will help "raise awareness" for fans who don't see through the scalpers lines.

I'm thinking about coming over for a game and scalp tickets given to me from all my new buddies!

I usually just buy from a scalper. It’s easy. Plus no matter how drunk you are, you can walk up and get a ticket from them. Simple and sweet.

Scalpers serve a purpose for those who don't want to spend the time buying or selling tickets for a price they should be. They don't care about getting lowballed on their tickets or overpaying a bit for convenience. However I rarely deal with them, as there are always good prices on ISU tickets (buying or selling) if you put a little work into it.

I always low ball scalpers and pit them against each other, it almost always works like a dream. Sold-out events are a little different, but I have also had some of my most successful scalping endeavors at sold-out events.

Also, wait until as close to game time as possible, they start to sweat. Their tickets are almost worthless 5 minutes after any event starts and they know it.

Treat them like **** and don't be afraid to walk away. These guys do this as a serious hustle and can spot a mark a mile away. If you don't know what you are doing or aren't 100% comfortable with making cash deals with strangers that have a certain amount of risk involved, just use an app. It's 2019, your phone can literally be your ticket.
