Most people may not know this, but a young Neil Geraldo (Pat Benatar's hubby) played for Derringer for a brief spell, before he joined up with Pat.

The original recorded version of Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo was on the Johnny Winter And album. Derringer (who wrote the song) played on that one, also on Johnny Winter And Live.

This album w/Derringer and Johnny Winter was played extensively in certain circles back in the 70s.

Testifying
Always assumed Derringer sang Free Ride but after looking at his career it was Dan Hartman.

Man, there was A LOT of talent in the Edgar Winter Group.

I tried to research the John O'Donnell concert a little and can't find a whole lot.

About 25 years ago I remember questioning my own memory about whether It was Johnny or Edgar and came to the conclusion that it had to be Johnny because Edgar was so freaky looking (not that there was anything "normal" about Johnny).

What I did find was there was a live album recorded that day which jogged another memory.

I remember the pre-show announcement that they were filming and recording the event and really wanted the crowd to be fired up.

It was only 53 years ago after all.
