Help: Reputation posts

I still haven't explored all the fringe aspects of the site (pure laziness!) and until recently hadn't paid attention to "reputation" messages.

I wasn't sure how that worked — how & where to make those comments, what the reputation "means" and also how to show appreciation for positive comments.

I'm still stuck in a straightforward message-board zone from bygone days of the '00s.

I hope this doesn't damage my cred. (Although using the word "cred" probably took care of that)

The blue check mark on the left side of posts, under the user name. The reputation was just a fun thing that was added, and used to allow for negative rep in addition to positive rep.

I thought it might be an option in the post screen, but for some reason I didn't explore deeply enough.

The Blue check mark is for giving rep. The red x is for reporting post to the moderators.
