They probably would play different positions. Batemon as combo guard would play SG and point, and Pierce more a small forward.

Not the case. Pierce came to Iowa State with the understanding he could compete at point guard. Combo guard more likely.

Whether or not Batemon influenced his decision, Pierce came to Ames as a guard. He’s not a small forward.
