Meyer=Arnaud>>Barnett>Flynn>Jantz>Tiller=Bates
I'm still surprised so many people are so high on Jantz after how horribly he fell off last year when defenses figured him out. I'm sure he's improved but I don't think he has quite the potential some on here say he has.

They all became good receivers. Flynn was great in the slot with Blythe and Davis on the outside. I loved watching him play, just a great athlete and football player. Bates had his catch against Iowa and that's good enough to be called great for me. Tiller showed some good potential in the spring game and I'm excited to see what he can do.
When Seneca first went pro, he was a wide receiver.

Fair point, but it would be interesting to see Meyer with a better supporting cast around him (O-line)

By the same token, I'd like to see what Arnaud could have done with Todd Blythe, Austin Flynn, and Jon Davis as receivers.

I don't think defenses figured Jantz out so much as he got injured and was no longer as much of a running threat and his passing fell off with a bad plant foot.

Jantz was very rough around the edges last year, and he may not have polished those up enough to be effective, but his raw talent is the highest we've had since Seneca.

You mean like most of our wins last year?

Our offense was spotty at best for most games. Tech was an explosive offensive game. The Ok St game was good from an offensive standpoint. Iowa game wasn't bad either. But yeah, the offensive side of the ball has clearly not been our strongpoint in the past decade.

I think the injury combined with teams realizing they could blitz him to severely hinder his effectiveness were the major reasons he was the worst BCS QB during the last half of the season. Iowa didn't blitz him and UNI didn't in the second half and that is why he dominated during those games.

Unfortunately he likes to take chances by thowing into a crowd. Watch his jc film. Yet he can correct this.

will we ever have a "good" QB? meyer was decent early in his career and arnaud had some nice games for us, but dang... we need someone to step it up
I feel like Richardson is someone that can possibly be that guy one day. We are very lucky to have a solid RB group or our offense would be even more f'd.

I'll drop the two current players from consideration and file the rest of the list under the category, "Not good enough".

Kinda reminds me of Meyer in that way. I don't think anyone can debate that as far as technical skills Jantz is the best QB we have. He can make throws that no one since Seneca has been able to make. His problem is that:
A) his decision making isn't great at times.
B) he is not as good of a runner in a offense that requires it

I think this is where the Barnett debate comes in. Barnett is not a better passer, he is just better fit for the system we had last year.

It will be interesting to see if the offense under CM we see changes with the offense that enable Jantz to feel more comfortable back there?

I think Meyer and AA are close. The numbers are a bit deceiving, in comparison to how things 'seemed.'

Then JB, SJ, AF, PB, JT

Either our line was terrible or Meyer had no pocket presence. 119 sacks in four years and 98 in the four years since.

Dude will be lucky he doesn't end up like Ali all the punishment he took...

Pretty sure he will be another ex player that won't let his kids play football.

How is it that Bates is not in the position of dead last in this poll? As one of my Drill Sergeants used to say "the only thing worse than a loser is a quitter."

Well we had 9 people who voted for every option. Taking that off brings Flynn down to 4, Bates down to 1 and Tiller down to 0.
