I don't mind the alternate uniform or helmet threads when a poster has legitimate skill to do mock-ups. Some of the things people come up with look pretty sweet.

The only thing I really care about is being able to read the numbers. Can't do that from our top of the south end zone seats with the anthracite football uniforms with the cardinal and gold numbers, although easy to see numbers on our other home uniforms. Not sure if the white numbers were easy to see from nosebleed Hilton seats, they showed up well on TV.
I could see the numbers when they were at our end of the court. A bit tougher when they were at the opposite end. And with all the new guys, it's a little harder to remember who's who if you can't see numbers.

Hans is #30.

You're welcome.
Yeah - we were always able to pick him out. ;)
Solo I can recognize because of the headband. Jackson, because he's built like (and carries himself like) a wrestler. If Wigginton is close enough, I can spot the hairstyle. I'm getting better at placing the new names with the numbers, but knowing who's who without being able to see numbers is tough sometimes.
It also didn't help much that the person running the scoreboard on the Jumbotron really sucked at it. They had wrong jersey numbers and fouls and points up there all night long.

Bowl update - last night both my aunt (mom's side) and brother weren't too interested so my mom said she would go but felt she wasn't truly interested in going to so was on the side of now not going. Get a voicemail from my mom this morning that she talked to my aunt and if my mom was going she would and my aunt went and bought the game tickets. So I guess we are going.

Only bowl games I've been to are Insight in 2000 and independence bowl in 2001 so it's been awhile. Crappy thing about this is it's strictly and down and back trip no sightseeing of a great historical town like Memphis so we better win.

MrsWx and I are not fans of the uniforms either. Maybe we have gotten to the "get off my lawn" stage before we hit 30? ;) That being said if I didn't like those I am going to hate the new football uniforms.

U of Illinois vet hospital just called my work number asking for maiden-name me to tell me about the hospital and presumably then ask for money. I'm like, 1. how did you get this number? 2. I never went to that school (did you attend one of our clinics?) also no, and 3. I haven't had that name for almost 7 years.

And as I typed that, I figured out how they got it. One of my very early projects at work was to call different university clinics to get some samples run. Totally forgot about that. That has to be it but that's still odd. Anyone who does business with them one time they harangue for donations forevermore? None of the other ones I called ever bug me.

Seems like bad practice to call businesses asking for donations. At least not the working level as obviously business regularly donate to programs.

I posted a couple of pictures in the uni thread. I wasn't a fan, but I'm clearly too old to have an opinion (or taste). ;)

Girl, that's like going into a crack house and saying you're not an addict and don't do drugs but thought you'd just hang out for a while. ;)

So, how much did you send them? ;)

I did it!
I'm merging two chapters into one for my final chapter.
I double-checked last night that they fit together like I thought, and they did.
Spent an hour tonight starting to scribble (on paper) what the new chapter's introduction needed to say, and that really came together into something that makes it all work.

And the final story in the book got to stay in place, right where it belonged, where New England needs to secede because slave interests are so embedded in the country that magazines can't even treat little girls with respect.

I knew you could do it.
