I finally had to put jsb on my ignore list. I'm no longer sure if she is actually that obsessed with Fred or is just trolling, but either way I've had enough with her dragging Fred into every GD thread.

I'm still the only person to graduate from college on either side of my family.....
Ugh, I thought sand volleyball tonight at 52 degrees and 20 mph winds on wet sand was going to suck tonight, but at least I don't have to be out there for more than an hour.
I always liked playing on wet sand. It packed down and I could jump higher. Plus the wind is awesome for some serving fun.
I've got no silver lining for that 52 degree thing, though. That straight-up sucks. Maybe try alcohol. It's a bit of a cure-all for me.
Also, you're probably at a bar while I'm stuck at a little league baseball field.

I come from a very ISU family as well. My grandfather attended back when it was Iowa State College, but didn't graduate. Then in my parents generation, my mom's family has 8 kids and my dad's has 6 and between the 14 of them, 12 spent at least some time at ISU. One in my dad's family stayed and farmed, and the baby in my mom's family went to Iowa (BOO!). Then in the next generation 3 of the 4 in my family went to ISU, and at least 12 in my generation have so far. #feelinglucky is really the best way to put it, or also that being born to these families in this country in this time is really hitting the lottery.
Exactly! Which is why I haven't said anything to her since. You make them feel special, then break their heart so Boxster can come swooping in to save the day as the sensitive guy. Instant boning.
Bawbie's mention of Iowa State college reminded me of something. One summer when I worked for maintenance, we were getting things ready for the Special Olympians that stayed on campus. We ended up replacing the mattresses in old RCA. A bunch of them were stamped "Iowa State College".
I'd say "If those mattresses could talk" but I'm sure all they'd say is "Eww, for the love of God, burn me and end this torture."
