A recent post made me remember a very funny/informative series of blog posts that appeared on www.basketbawful.com

The series follows the author of the blog and his first year of college at a big 10 college and his pairing w/ a big time college athelete as a roomate. It is very informative on the life some college athletes lead while at school. The link below is part one, at the bottom of the page you can move forward to the next episode.

To me it was very funny, thought Id post so you guys could have the chance to read it. I wont say who the player is as it is part of the fun of reading the blog.

When I typed in huge dutch centers, college basketball into Google; I think this might be our guy:

Serge Zwikker, 7'3, 275 played at UNC with Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse in the mid-90s and got drafted 30th overall by the Rockets in '97 (never played a minute in the NBA)...

Well, maybe not... He said he's from Kokomo, IN which is actually a legit town. It's about 50 miles north of Indianapolis and 90 miles south of South Bend. In his 4th post, he calls his mom at 3 PM and drives to pick him up. So probably not UNC. And his g/f went to Butler so he's probably at a school in Indiana or maybe Ohio (or Illinois but as a long time fan of Illinois, I don't Illinois has ever had a Dutch player)...

That is not the correct player btw. The series is about 16 posts long. Can you not get the rest of the links? Ill try to find them

Very good guess....they player however may be fairly hard to get, he did play w/ a future NBA all star if that hasnt already been mentioned

Nice, so I was right (at least so far). I figured engineering roommate originally and Aimee was at Butler so it had to be Purdue. Cool. Still a lot more to read for me.
