That is a tremendous amount of talent. Unless you expect us to be last year's Kentucky squad, I don't know what you would consider 'loaded', if that isn't.

That is a tremendous amount of talent. Unless you expect us to be last year's Kentucky squad, I don't know what you would consider 'loaded', if that isn't.
Very few if any have significant speculation that they will be coaching in the NBA like Fred has. His name has been seriously linked to actual open NBA jobs for each of the past three season. Obviously this year the speculation has gotten far more serious but ever since 2012, Fred to the NBA has been talked about in virtually every Fred related national media exposure.
That is a job that almost always lies in the hands of an assistant, whether the head coach is inexperienced or whether he's an accomplished veteran like Bill Self.
Niang, McKay, and Morris will be All-Conference players and 2 of them will be All-Americans.
Add Long, Thomas, Burton, Cooke, and Nader and you have a top 10 team heading into next year.
Really? Who ****** in your freaking cheerios? With all the uncertainty right now around our team the one thing that is certain is that we have as much talent returning as anyone in the nation.

We have a good team, but there are several teams that were better than us last year that return as much while adding more. Hopefully we are looking at a similar year to last year, but with a better tournament.
I can think of maybe 5-6 teams that return as much as ISU or have that plus talent coming in, if that, and who should prob be ranked higher at this stage...UNC, Maryland, Virginia, KU, KY, Duke, OU(possibly)... Might throw Indianna in there too as they return everyone and added two good recruits. Incidentally Cinncinati will be ranked pre season too, they return everyone.
we lost BDJ and Hogue. Hogue is bigger loss(he hit some big 3pt in key games that sparked some of our comebacks). But Hogue kinda disappointed compared to his jr year IMO. BDJ fell apart last half of year as we all know and might have been toxic. We've added talent too in Cooke and Burton not to mention Thomas and Nader really came on at end of year and seemed to find their groove.

Oh, dear. Agreed that they were not what Duke is today under Coach K but Duke was in the title game three years before Coach K got there and was in the Elite Eight two of the previous three years before he got there. I'd credit Vic Bubas in the 60's as the coach that put them on the map on a consistent basis. They were probably in the top 10 nationally in program wins when Coach K got there. If you don't like teams recruiting players at a young age, blame Bubas. He is credited as being that first major coach to start recruiting players before their senior year in high school.
YES. Whether a new coach gets them to perform to their level of ability is a topic for another day but their roster is the same no matter who is coaching it. There aren't 10 rosters better than what Iowa State will have next year.
The question then would be, how might voters adjust the rank of the pure roster depending on who's coaching? (Potential vs. expected achievement). I think we may see ISU drop from the range of 3-6 to maybe 7-10, unless Hoiberg successor is a "known" entity. (Polling involves national perception depending on individual voters).
Still in denial. Every person processes the stages at a different rate. Some are still in denial, I've seen some bargaining, and I see a lot of people in anger.
