2:09 is TJ making a very valid point and not mentioning names.

I'm not saying there's a bunch of turmoil or anything but some egos may need to be put aside for this team to move forward the way they seemed to think they were going to today.

Cue up some 80s montage action.

Yeah, noticed that. He called out Gilbert without naming him. One has to wonder why that would be a difficult thing to fix?

Aside from benching players to punish them and only making things harder for everyone he'll need to figure something out IF it's actually the case.

I feel a lot better after hearing that. He's pissed, and he's sick and tired of it. Called out pretty much everyone without saying names. Flat out said effort was not there. Rebounding, hero ball. I have never heard him even come close to speaking like that publicly.

I wonder if we see different guys play Monday. What happened today was not a normal bad game, had some really poor effort at times from more than one guy.

That was so untypical of TJ....wow. Monday there are 3 or 4 guys that better come to play or I really think we going to see other guys. Never seen him like that.

Similar statements on the post game radio show. TJ did clarify that he didn’t think guys were playing hero ball to selfishly try and get theirs, more so thought they were impatient when trying to cut into KState’s lead. The whole can’t eliminate a 10+ point deficit in one shot/drive.

About everyone including CuJo.

Imo it's good timing for this. We'll see how it plays out.
The rebounding effort was horrific. Lot of tape that is going to be really embarrassing for several guys.

I don't think any of our guys are selfish, it's just terrible basketball. Maybe reading too many articles about themselves. Just human nature, not a comment about character. Maybe just they needed a kick in the ass.

Agreed. I feel like when we hit offensive lulls in games, our guards force things trying to put the team on their back.

Complete opposite of the offense we saw earlier in the season/big12 when ball movement led to comebacks and/or increasing leads.

Yeah, on the radio he said guys needed to trust the other guys (move the ball).

I would love to hear the chat with the team after and at the next practice...I'm sure he will be very direct.

I'm not expecting a win Monday but this could be a thing where a quick turn around is the best thing for a group to get a quick reset instead of chewing on it for a few days.

Two years ago almost to the day they blew a huge lead against a bad texas tech team which started a dive in February that ended with C. Grill being dismissed.

You mentioning turmoil brought back those memories. Hope there is none of that.

I'm guessing this isn't the same thing if it's even a thing.

That Tech game included ISU hitting a bunch if threes in the first half while Tech iirc was still getting things inside whih the latter is usually the better indicator.

And it was a totally different group as well.

I’m not buying into the turmoil theory, yet. All the guards have been guilty of aimless drives the last few games, I don’t read Otz’s comment as “Gilbert.” Jones is chasing his automatic floaters that teams have learned to guard. Lipsey is feeling the pressure and forcing the issue sometimes, though he was obviously the team’s best player the last two games.

It’s great to hear Otz mention the mental aspect of this skid. Pouting about offensive output—especially when you’re not even moving the ball in a way conducive to making the offense work—is a waste of mental and physical energy and makes it harder to be at your best the next play. Notice 99% of the best players and teams in history don’t expend energy on what they can’t change in the here and now. As for how to fix that,,,that’s above my pay grade. I believe many P4 schools do employ sports psychologists
