Hey Williams, what about RB coach ideas? That could be just as important to get right especially for RB recruits and they're a couple good ones in the 2013 class that suddenly are feeling nervous I'd bet.

My preferred scenario would be Sage as the QB coach and bring in an OC that has experience working with RBs. I like the idea of having an assistant that could put a majority of their energies in QB development without all the additional responsibilities that being OC entails. And if Sage works out well and gains coaching experience he could end up being the OC at some point.

I agree with this approach as long as the o-coord knows how to develop RB's as well.

Not Northern Illinois. They're dependent on a unique talent in Jordan Lynch. Who knows what they'd be like without him?

KK had OC experience at T A&M and Houston before becoming head coach at TT. You can't compare Sage and KK.

I dont see him being hired as an OC but a QB coach could work for Sage. He knows the position and played around enough people in the NFL to know what it takes to be a good QB.

Dave Schramm is the OC at Fresno State. He was a QB at Cornell College here in Iowa for a year.

Bob Cole was QB coach before being promoted to OC at NIU.

Lynch was a 2 star QB who only shows on offer from NIU on Rivals. Cole probably had a big hand in developing him, which is a BIG part of what we need.

Rod Carey (the NIU head coach and former OC under Jerry Kill) might be the mastermind behind the offense, but I think Cole would be a great candidate.

Kingsbury was a great OC at Houston and at A&M, not saying Sage is the guy but it would be in that same mold.

He'd have to pay his dues as an assistant coach just like KK did at Houston. KK also had the privilege of learning a LOT from Leach and Sumlin. Two offensive geniuses.

CPR doesn't have the luxury of taking chances with too many hires.

Agreed, my preference would be to bring him in as a position coach first.
