I have an extra ticket for the pgi firework display in Boone at the central iowa expo tomorrow, 8/8, evening. I dont need anything for it just don't want it to go unused. Message me if you want it, and I'll send you the ticket. I beleive i can send a screen shot of the qr code. I think there is free parking, first come first serve, or you can buy a pass that will ensure you get a spot if there are any left. Need to bring a lawn chair or you'll be sitting on the ground or standing.

Here is the link to buy tickets for anyone else interested. They are fantastic firework shows.

I have no idea what kind of insane stuff they're shooting off over there, but we are 6.5 miles away as the crow flies and have been able to hear them all week inside our house at night.

I’m and north and east of Nevada and have heard them all week as well. I have heard people in state center can hear them as well. It’s a bout a a 40 minute drive from my house to the farm progress field, must be a hell of show.

The show is incredible. Went Sunday night and will be going back tomorrow night!

Best fireworks I’ve ever seen
How was traffic and how packed was it? Thinking of going but I have no idea what to expect. Any tips if I go? Checked out the website but it’s not very helpful. Are there food or drink vendors? BYOB or no alcohol allowed?

Sharing the Sunday experience but I expect tonight to be much busier so it may not be the same.

Traffic seemed bad when we arrived Sunday night but it actually rolled in pretty smooth.

We left west Ames at 6:30 and the lots opened at 6:00 and when we pulled off 30 most of the exit was full and cars coming from the south were lined up well over the bridge towards Redekers. A lot of people were parking in that little roadside parking lot right off the exit and walking in but we rolled by them on the way out as they were walking back.

Outside food and drink are not allowed. They do have food trucks and we had Mexican which was very good. The lines were LONG at all of the food spots though. We got our food as they played the anthem which was at least an hour and 45 minutes after we arrived and got in line. They were doing their best but there were just a lot of people so they could have had 3-4 more food trucks out there.

We brought chairs and blankets in with a fold up wagon. It’s mostly grass but there’s some gravel and asphalt in the seating area.

My “tips” would be plan to be there early and just hang out but definitely eat before arriving. There will be lines to get in and for food but it’s absolutely worth it. Even though I’ve never once thought about paying to watch fireworks. There is music that goes with the show so parking on a nearby road wouldn’t be the same IMO.
