Pete Taylor

It’s just different now that all the games are televised. John does a lot more outside the games where Pete was truly the voice of the cyclones because that’s how you received the games.
Seems like we may have gotten 10 televised games a year max (way less in football), so Pete's voice on the radio was the lifeline to guide you through what was happening.

As someone who spent a lot of time listening to both, Walters is right there. Heft being there for all of it is truly remarkable. When he hangs it up, it's going to be a tough day.

It is going to be crazy weird when Eric is finished. I’m 46 and he’s all I remember.

Pete was great. John is equally great.

We are lucky.

You can always hear Eric sigh/breathe heavy when something isn't called right/doesn't go our way. He is one of us.
I was listening to the 2021 Oklahoma State game, and when X’s TD got called back, I thought he was going to stroke out in the booth. I’ve never heard an announcer so furious/in utter disbelief

I loved nothing better than Iowa State football on a Saturday afternoon and listening to Pete on the radio when the Cyclones were rarely on TV. I've always been an Iowa State fan but Pete's love for Iowa State along with his enthusiasm and excitement (and that he was just an outstanding individual), made me and even better and deeply loyal fan. I cherish my interactions that I got to have with him on a personal level. Miss that guy with all my heart.

I was on the car ride over to a fairly irrelevant ISU game since they weren't that good, but it turned very important when the news broke on the radio.
