I'm tired as h#ll of this national and in-state perception of our football program.
~We can fill our updated fb stadium to 61,000.
~That is #3 in the most competitive Power 5 conference.
~We have great facilities
~We have a gorgeous campus
We can do this despite a losing program. We have the greatest core set of fans in the country.
We were told we may go to the MAC in 2012 when the conference was on shaky ground. (MAC conference home games average 18,000). Who comes up with this b.s.?
I'm tired of the rhetoric. I never see this crap said about garbage teams like Purdue, Indiana, Rutgers, Maryland. We have better attendance that those four programs --better fans and ranked higher in computer ratings than 7-8 of Iowa opponents.

Some excerpts from the DM Register this AM, which feeds the perception:
"High-major jobs like USC, South Carolina, Missouri and Miami of Florida will remain open for a while. North Texas is narrowing down its list to replace Dan McCarney."
"Iowa State (compared to open high-major jobs) ranks above North Texas, but that's about it, right now".
So Pollard, I'm assuming, will act as quickly as he can within the realm of finding the right guy to coach a team with some good talent returning for 2016.
This isn't exactly the greatest Power Five job in the world, but at least Iowa State finally has the core talent to hang with at least half the Big 12 teams, including 6-4 West Virginia on Saturday. Its facilities are outstanding. Fan support is off-the-charts great.
Coaching salary?
Not so great.
