Opinions on that INT

Decent call and there was no chance it was getting overturned. The egregious part was how we get called for PI/holding on a ball 15 yards out of bounds on the conversion, but they don't call it the same way against their DBs.

*Edit: We got screwed.

No matter what they ruled, the refs were screwed. That is just one of those crazy plays that doesnt follow any of the rules technically. Whatever they called on the field would stand and I would argue that the defensive player had more possession than Murdock throughout the entirety of the "catch" . And it doesn't help that the defender got to the ball first.

Im sure the refs were hoping deep down that they could somehow call that an incomplete pass but it never hit the ground so they couldn't say that.

They did eventually go out of bounds though, didn't they? I don't think either of them really had possession prior to going out of bounds.

They called the play completely off of positioning of the DB relative to the receiver when the ball arrived at the receiver. In part, they also held the fact that the ball was underthrown against us. Any perceptions that Oklahoma State had the ball were made entirely off of these factors. In reality, Murdock completed the process with equal, perhaps even majority posession of the ball, however was doomed from the beginning because it is easier to be gutless and maintain the status quo rather than be critical and risk blowback from the establishment and casual fans who rely on an ingnorant perception of Iowa State's football abilities.

I can almost hear the blowback they would have gotten if they called that a touchdown. They didn't have the guts, and I almost don't blame them. Almost.

I don’t have a problem with the final call, but I do have a problem with those no calls in the endzone. Two, and at worst 1, of those was a blatant PI. If they are going to call us twice on OSU’s 2 pt conversions, call it our way too. I don’t ask for much, but I do ask for consistent officiating.

Definitely looked like an INT other than the one and only time they showed it from the other angle, which makes no sense because that was the best angle. It looked like the DB didn't actual have control of the ball.

Either way, bad throw by Zeb.

INT.
Gotta win the ball & make the play. Don’t let the game come down to a judgement call from a non-competitor.
Good call.
If you want to win, win the ball.

Hope this team moves on from this emotional loss on senior night. I know they will. Let's try get a win against Baylor.

If you dont understand why this wasn't overturned than you are a homer. That being said, whatever was called on the field would have stood and you could have gone either way. You can watch it in slow mo now and have a legitimate fight about whether it was a TD or INT, they had to make a quick call and happened to call it an INT.
