Welcome back to On That Note, CF’s weekly music exploration, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

Our final week for 2019 comes in two parts. Part 2 (coming in a bit) is our weekly installment.

Part 1 is a bonus poll to determine your favorite OTN theme of the year.

Finalists were determined by which topics that drew the highest number of responses. That tells only part of the story -- some themes lend themselves to more content, but doesn’t automatically mean people liked the subject matter the most.

To that end, cast a vote, then post a comment telling us why you like it best. If you choose “Other,” please elaborate.

(Major thank-you to Rulzzz for compiling numbers for the poll.)

In a follow-up post, I’ll include the full weekly list of On That Note topics for 2019.

Hard to pick only one. I picked Word just because I liked the idea of a single word title. No lyric options on that one. Clean and simple.

Of the "Others" I mostly remember the July 31st one - Everybody's Talkin' at Me. Because the idea came to me like a bolt out of the blue on July 4th. Then when I half-heartedly presented it to the guys they were SO supportive and eventually we figured out there might be enough songs to make it a viable topic.

So, bottom line, I mostly remember it because of the other 2 OTN guys and all the hard work and support we give behind the scenes. Good to be part of the team!

"Jinx!" to @MeanDean! I voted for "Word," too. I wanted to delay a vote for a while until others got a chance. LIke MeanDean says, not easy to choose as an insider. To me, it's like selecting a favorite child.

I enjoyed planning and compiling everything on the poll list (as well as those that didn't make the popularity cut). City-to-City and Eat to the Beat I remember quite well, those topics seemed to move along well and offered some surprises or things I'd forgotten.

I enjoy all of them but really enjoyed the ones that highlighted bands that were thought to be one man or wouldn't be the same without one member. Was fairly recently iirc

Another not on the list I thought was insightful was The Day(s) the Music Died."

For recurring themes, I always have fun with the album series.

I feel kinda selfish rating & commenting as a panel member.
