***OFFICIAL SELECTION SUNDAY THREAD***

Good morning fellow Big 12 Champions. Hope you're all having as wonderful a day as I am. Go 'Clones.

Honestly when you look at the resumes of the teams involved, there is no way we dont deserve a 2 seed at this point. If we were a name team we'd be getting named as a possible one seed (not saying we'd deserve that, but we have a better resume than Michigan and theyre being listed as a 1)

I don't think whether we deserve a 2 seed is that obvious. An objective argument could be made either way- to put us at 2 or 3. Really depends on which stats you choose to consider in your argument, and how you weigh each of those stats. Overall Record? SOS? RPI? Head to Head? Home-Away Record? Record against top 25? Against top 50?

This may be my Homerism speaking, but I hear so much about the Big 12 being the toughest league in the country and we will have 7 teams in the dance, yet no #1 seed. Not even in the conversation. Michigan, a team we beat, seems like they will get one. I know the top 3 seem solid, but not even Kansas as a one?

Not saying we should be a 1, but where is all the Big 12 love when it matters?? (Oh, and we need to be a 1 seed! ;-) )

I think Kansas would have probably gotten a one if they had won the Big 12, but commentators have already said that the committee will take into account how KU played without Embiid in the conference tourney, so I think that is going to definitely keep them out of a one, and could drop them as low as a three. They are just not the same team without him, and have no one to step up to take his place. It's a tough break for Kansas (pun intended) but those things happen.

I think Michigan and ISU are sort of on the bubble between a 2 and a 3 but somehow everyone is predicting Michigan as a #1 seed. Makes no sense when you measure it up against anything other than "name".

"Name" is what screwed us in 2000 and than they tried to do a make up call for us in 2001 and gave us a seed we didn't deserve.

From what I can tell, it seems that the only way to get St. Louis is for ISU to jump KU. Unfortunately, I just don't see that happening. Even if KU gets downgraded to the 3 seed I still think the committee rewards them with the STL location.

The other opportunity is getting Michigan bumped to Buffalo. There aren't a lot of top teams in that region this year so they may put Michigan there to relieve some congestion in the MW. Even with a 3 seed we could get that Milwaukee spot in that situation.

If we are a 2 sees and they are a 3......we get st Louis, it's a priority tying now, not wherever they want to place you because of your name

Maybe we should put the time and channel of the selection show in the first post of the thread for the super lazy people like me.

We also beat Michigan head to head.
and we have RPI,BPI and 9-5 vs top 50 teams michigan has only played 9 top 50 teams and went 5-4 but somehow have a better SOS. Oh and we are the big 12 champs.

I expect the top 3 seed but 2 seed definitely possible with some of the losses the last couple of days. The difference between Wisc and Iowa State has got to be really thin.

I don't really care about 3 vs. 2 seed though; matchups far more important. Switching top 3 for bottom 2 almost means we just play the same team with switched seeds.

I'm hoping for the Friday-Sunday slate though so I can watch the Friday game!

NCAA College Basketball Tournament Predictions - Nitty Gritty Report - ESPN

JUST IN: #Selections Committee is down to 8 teams! They’re evaluating who’s the last 4 in and who’s the last 4 out. #soclose

Probably our best case for a two is that the two teams right ahead of us both lost in their conference semi-final while we won the championship. With the strength of the Big 12, I think a proper reward would be two 2's and bump Wisconsin to a 3.

It is really amazing how almost identical Iowa State and Wisconsin resumes are for that number 2 seed.

The more I listen to ESPN, the more I think they are going to be really wrong on their predictions. It seems that they are all talking to each other and coming to conclusions that don't make sense. For example, as of yesterday they had #12 Wisconsin as a potential 1 seed. Now they've pretty much convinced themselves that #9 Michigan is definitely the last 1 seed or first 2 seed.

Let's get it on.

NDSU in at a #12
Minnesota sneakes in at #12 as well.
Iowa = OUT
Iowa St = #3 seed
Drunken sconi's = #4 seed
