I can understand why 2 of the play-in games are 16 seeds, but why are the other 2 games 11/12 seeds?
Because the 11/12 playins are typically for major conference bubble teams. And those teams are usually better than the lower level conference AQ's which usually get seeds 13-16.

Conpsiracy-theory theory: Splitting the open-round between 16-seed auto-bids and 11/12 at-large makes it convenient to expand to 76 teams within a few years, after it's determined that "expansion from 64 to 68 has made the tournament even better!"

Even though it hasn't.

New Mexico State has that huuuuuuuuuuuuuge dude. Anyone see him yesterday? I mean he looks like a WWF villain from the 80s. Bigger than Cameron Ridley.

Is that the guy who is 7'5 and 330lbs? Amazing

Just for ***** & gigs here's the first bracketology from the start of the season. Actually for the most part the top seeds are similar. UK & OkSt off obviously, and Iowa St. may have made the biggest jump from 11 to 3.

Thought if funny after the Louisville game when Pitino was saying 'We're a 1 seed... we're a 1 seed... but I stopped politicking a long time ago...' lol

ISU is a #2 seed, but the political trends clearly have them headed for a #3 seed. I can't wait for the year that we are actually seeded higher than we deserve. I'm sick of always being lower.

Irony, I suppose they call it. :)

I don't think Louisville will get a 1, but even though it's more like a 3-seed (and that's being kind -- SOS 80!), I sense a 2-seed coming. It doesn't hold up to logic, but my hunch is some team has to fill that remaining Orlando pod — assuming UVa & Duke get the Raleigh sites.

Louisville has steamrolled every non-factor team it played. But my gosh, the lower half of AAC is putrid.

Milwaukee as a 3 seed. Wisconsin forced to travel a bit because we jumped them.

Pods have nothing to do with seeds. There is no correlation whatsoever. They could go to Orlando as a 2 seed or a 3 seed.

Smiling ear to ear since last night. I'm so happy right now I don't even care about what seed we get. I love everyone, even clonedude right now.
