They are having this round table on espn2 right now that is really interesting with some soccer stars like Michael Ballack. They made a great point on that 3rd goal, the guy just poked it in. The goalie didn't have any indication, it was a great shot. That penalty is why international soccer can be a joke. They need replay more than any other sport considering the critical nature of every goal.
edit: really soccer needs another field referee, another up close vantage point would certainly help and not from the guys on the sidelines.

The only way 5 isn't enough is if the top 3 teams in the group all have 5 points (all three tie each other and beat the last place team). Then it comes to goal differential.
Youve watched Brazil play in the World Cup before, right?
They get get calls like that all the time.
The penalty was a bad call, but don't grab the dude's shoulder if you don't want the risk of getting that call.
what language do the refs speak...all of them?? brazil vs Croatia and they were talking to both like it was at the breakfast table.
Well there are 32 teams, so 16 first games. And at only 3 or 4 games a day to prevent overlap, some teams have to be on Monday.
Yeah, that's what I thought too. It was a weak call, but you can see why the ref called what he did.
Yeah, looking at it some more it wasn't that bad. Defenders have to keep their hands off of the guy in the box otherwise you're asking for it.
