Stupid expensive for parking a car, but gotta think about springing for a garage spot.
I don't know how much it cost now, but it was cheaper to park in the long term parking ramp than what my deductible is. I figure if we get big hail or tornado it will cost me at lest $500 in deductible not including the time without a vehicle. No brainer to me.

$20/day

Problem is, they need to open up the new sections of the ramp. I'm on a trip now, and pay the cost for ramp parking but can only ever get the upper deck so still exposed to the elements.

They had a slight risk for the state for a couple days and now bumped it up. KWWL brought it up on Tuesday. I don't remember seeing a SPC chance that far out before.
Don't recall seeing a forecast map where the worst of the weather is so perfectly centered on the state of Iowa
45% risk already for Monday?

This was the Day 4 outlook for the Greenfield tornado last year:

So I've seen a lot of "We don't usually see warnings this far out" comments lately. Has something changed in forecasting, like AI, or are we seeing changing weather patterns?

As commented earlier, machine learning has improved things like forecasting the conditions that form severe weather outbreaks further into the future. The frequency of these events is going to be a hotter topic to discuss, but I think at least the core of it is partially due to improved models.

Wonder if there’s a market for bubble wrap car covers? Or maybe a 1/2” thick inflatable cover?
It has been done on planes at Airventure before...
