I’ve always wondered about the logistics of this type of thing. Do you wait in your car until they clear things? If your car is damaged where do they take you?
Roads east of Ames are fine. Still says travel not advised but it’s not bad. Think the sun coming out maybe helped harden snow. Only had an inch and a half or so
Oh, wow. Ours came back around 9:45 a.m., following a brief power outage (which I took to be Midland performing some substation switching activity).
When I married my wife, I took over shoveling her grandparents' driveway. They paid me $40 every time I did it because that is what they were paying a company to do it. This was 10 years ago. Just giving a reference point. This was in Ames.
I was thinking about going to out to shovel, but then I just looked and saw I'm already seeing some pavement on the sidewalk. Think I'll sit this one out and let Mother Nature handle it.
I had to do the end of the driveway where the plow pushed slushy stuff. Ugh.
Have 2 kids cleaning out my drive now. I told them to just get behind the cars and the end of the driveway. I will get the rest with the snow blower. Will give them 20 each because this is wet heavy snow.
We've lived in this house 20 years, and I have 3 things I hate.
#1 Tile-We were too late in the built to change it. I hate tile/grout.
#2 Side Load Garage-It looks good being on the side of the house. It's not deep enough, I'd like to see it 2-3 feet longer. When I had a truck for 9 months, I had to park it sideways to fit.
#3 West facing driveway. We get no sun on the driveway at all. The neighbors driveway will be cleared for days and ours will still have snow/ICE.

Made it to work safely. Between being new and that our cliente is on campus made coming a necessity. Took old 30 from nevada to Ames and wasn't too bad.
Pushed the snow to the end of the driveway and neighbor pushed the pile into the ditch with his 4 wheeler. Went to pay him but he said my wife already paid, she is not home so cant ask her.
#2 can have that same problem with any garage can't you? If they just build it too small?
