*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Boy, Pedro Martinez in the post game is certainly pro-Brewers. Like WTH, dude?

I need to apologize. I made the mistake of saying to Mrs. Velo after the first inning that I hoped that first inning was a start to a resurgence of the offense for this team.

Welp, it didn't exactly turn out that way.

I'm really sorry. I apologise unreservedly... I offer a complete retraction. The imputation was totally without basis in fact, and was in no way fair comment, and was motivated purely by malice. I deeply regret any distress my comments may have caused you or your family. And I hereby undertake not to repeat any such slander at any time in the future.

I found it funny that Ron Darling kept saying "that AB by PCA may be the turning point of this series." It's one of those things that if he is right he'll make sure to mention it over and over the next 2 games and if he's wrong you won't hear a peep like he never said it.

Call me crazy (probably rightfully so) but if I am in Counsell's shoes I might go with Brown as an opener tonight in front of Boyd. We know he has the stuff. He pitched okay in mop up duty game one and in his short career he has absolutely dominated across 3 starts vs. the Brewers.

I think you'd have an exceptionally quick hook with Brown as you'll know immediately if he's on or not. You could potentially get through the lineup once with him and then turn it over to Boyd for a couple innings before handing off to the bullpen.

Doubt that's the plan, but could be an option.

Regardless who starts they should have a quick hook at the first sign of trouble. Our offense can't dig us out of a big hole early. Even Counsell joked that he told the team we have to do our scoring in the 1st because that's what we've done the past 2 games now.

I wished they had saved Rea instead of having him throw 60 pitches in game 2. He's probably not rested enough to go out and start tonight and it would be nice if they could win without having to use him out of the bullpen tonight so he can start game 5. I definitely trust him to start over Shota at the moment.

Have to think the Brewers are going with Peralta tonight right?
