I live on the south side of Ames. Got some strong winds there for a minute as the area with rotation went over us.

Same location for me. Got a little intense.

Winds were NUTS in Urbandale.

West Des Moines as well. Trees moving more intense than they did on Tuesday for us. Might have been me watching from 2nd story vs walkout basement, though.

I was terrified of storms when I was a kid. This spring would have traumatized me back then.

We are right off of 80 across from Rubes, so I'm always a little nervous since we're the "leading edge", but we've been lucky so far.

Why does the weather app that comes on all IPhones always wildly differ from apps like 13 Warn Me? Like all night it kept saying only a 35% chance of rain for a couple hours this morning while the 13 app predicted big storms. Same with the last round. Is the IPhone weather app using a potato for its radar?

Heard those but only after my mom got an alert on same phone that I have and woke me up.

If she hadn't woken up I could have even slept through sirens.

Can someone smarter than me explain how this works. The storms today were moving NE, but based on the direction of the trees blowing halfway over the wind was blowing to the SE. Is this just my eyes messing with me or is that a thing?
