It looks like the tornado threat along the IA/MN border is quite a bit lower than the Cedar Rapids area, correct?

In deciphering these maps were talking about a 15% chance in the red and something less than 15% but not 0% in the other areas.so it’s a pretty tight gradient whichecer way you look at.
I'm not 100% proficient in reading forecast discussions but the 3:30 update seems to have moved it further east again, no?

That’s what it’s looking like on the models but beware the late starts from the models. Should have a much better idea every hour from here on right up to the event.
Wish I understood weather maps as well as I understand words.
The latest NAMNEST which hasn't been too bad at forecasting has it slowing a bit and now has storm development between Omaha and Des Moines which would mean the central Iowa area would be getting some of this around 4pm tomorrow.
Going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. Looks like a classic set up.
I live in the Cedar Rapids area and just got a notice they are letting out school 3 hours early tomorrow. Can’t remember the last time they announced an early out a full day ahead of non-winter weather.
It is College Community. Linn-Mar is off tomorrow already.
Call the folks and tell them to raise their building insurance, I'd bet dollars to donuts they are under insured. We were when the Dec tornado thumped us a couple of yrs ago.

CRCSD is now dismissing an hour earlier than the normal Friday early out.
