E IA needs eyes to the sky tomorrow. There are probably going to be a lot of people out ne about in relation to the Clarkeyes and away from their safe spots and out in vehicles. Don’t get caught out without a plan
It looks like the tornado threat along the IA/MN border is quite a bit lower than the Cedar Rapids area, correct?East of I35 will be fun. Damaging wind at tornado potential look robust from individual cells that fire initially along warm front just north of the MN/IA border front and trailing down cold front. Should tend to form a squall line with time but think spin-up tornadoes along it will be a thing. Hail probably isn't accounted for as high as I think it could be with a 'cool' early season setup.
Up my way... Thinking I'll be seeing 45° to 70° over about a 20 mile difference. Bonkers. Then we'll close with a few inches of snow.

So you're saying that I'm totally safe and in the clear, got it.In deciphering these maps were talking about a 15% chance in the red and something less than 15% but not 0% in the other areas.so it’s a pretty tight gradient whichecer way you look at.
I'm not 100% proficient in reading forecast discussions but the 3:30 update seems to have moved it further east again, no?
Mentions initial firing at 380 rather than 35.
Keep moving south and east.
I hadn't heard that yet. Fridays are early outs anyway. Uh ohI live in the Cedar Rapids area and just got a notice they are letting out school 3 hours early tomorrow. Can’t remember the last time they announced an early out a full day ahead of non-winter weather.
Nothing on CRCC FB or Twitter yetIt is College Community. Linn-Mar is off tomorrow already.
I just heard it from a friend whose wife works thereNothing on CRCC FB or Twitter yet
Hmm hopefully the worst staying just south of us but parents place is not in a great spot there......
Hmm good point. Animals mostly all gone now so I'm not sure if they made changes when that happened.Call the folks and tell them to raise their building insurance, I'd bet dollars to donuts they are under insured. We were when the Dec tornado thumped us a couple of yrs ago.
Just got the alert too.CRCSD is now dismissing an hour earlier than the normal Friday early out.
