If I were an Iowa fan I'd be furious with Fran. You know you have some good talent coming back. But you know you desperately need PG play and some length/athleticism. And with that you bring in multiple marginal high school talents not ready to contribute right away (with the exception of Ke. Murray). They were an immediately eligible transfer or two away from being really, really good.

The typical Iowa arrogance, much like KF and his loyalty to his QBs, Fran and his refusal to add that one extra piece was the difference between a Final Four and today. This was actually a shame for Garza and his talent/effort. I would love to see ISU get a post player that improved that much at ISU and played that well.

Connor's typical box score is a few fouls and not much else other than lots of minutes played.

Seriously though, I do feel bad for Garza; Hawkeye or not, hard-working kid who does seem humble and came a really long way from bring a goofball just a couple of years ago. I would have loved to have seen him in the Cardinal and Gold, and I wish him the best of luck.

Agree...I didn't watch the Hawks very often at all...but I did start to like Garza. Played his butt off and seemed pretty genuine when interviewed. Don't get me wrong, I have never rooted for the Hawks! And I LOVE that Bohannon got shut out today! That is awesome.

Iowa should be glad that they didn't play that team in the first round. They were mean and tough kids who probably would have ate JorBo alive.

I had this convo with an Iowa fan here. Winning first round games is no huge thing for good programs.

Older iowa fans remember when they won nearly 20 of them in a 25-30 year span.

Lick and fran have turned their fanbase into thinking beating a 15 seed is more special than winning a big ten tournament.
