I doubt they're waiting for their top target to get fired somewhere. I'm guessing whoever we hire will be a current OC at a mid-major type school. They may want to wait until after a bowl game, not us.

Now that I live in northern colorado I've heard a little about him and in general people think pretty highly of him. Sounds like a passionate high-energy guy that has occasionally been able to do more with less. (Kinda sounds like someone I know). Plus Missouri's offense wasn't too shabby when he was there so I wouldn't hate it. I'm more on the Mangino bandwagon but who knows. Anyone that has shown some ability to produce decent offenses would be an upgrade.

Jay Norvell would never leave Oklahoma to come to ISU. Same with Tony Alford at Notre Dame.
I will too, but I doubt that you and I can put together enough money to pull him away from Tennessee.
Bring in a new Offensive Coordinator that can also coach Running Backs.
Bring in Sage Rosenfels to coach Quarterbacks. Is that a home run hire? No. But he has NFL experience and could probably recruit really well.

My concern with Dougherty is that he's only been coaching offense for a year.

I believe you're referring to Tony Franklin. He just finished his first year as OC at Cal.
