I’m proud to announce that I will pursue my lifelong dream by continuing my academic and athletic career at Iowa State University. Thanks to everyone who has supported me. Go Cyclones!

From Des Moines Register
“A similar trend is unfolding for the Cyclones’ 2019 haul, and it continued Wednesday morning when Ankeny Centennial’s Eric Owens announced his commitment to the program.

Owens is a two-time state medalist for the Jaguars, and reached the Class 3A state finals at 145 pounds this past season. “

Another very talented in-state class of 2020 kid. I love the depth these coaches are building, especially with in-state kids. Lots of talent joining the room over the next couple of years to go along with an already tough room. It should be a dog fight to make the line-up every year, no matter how highly recruited you are.

Ben Monroe is a 3x State Runner-up, losing to Cullan Schriever (Iowa commit), Kyle Biscoglia (UNI), and Joe Pins.

I would assume he'd go 138 this upcoming season and be a 133 for us, with potential to grow to 141.

Maybe I am wrong but I almost think it is almost overlooked how well Dresser and Co. can recruit and the momentum on the trail they have created. Makes me really excited for the future.
These are some of the teams the cyclones beat at Nationals already this year. NC State, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Illinois, Fresno State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, and Wyoming. The future is looking great again for this program. Some of these teams, especially NC State, have had some big recruiting classes lately and finishing ahead of them in just the 2nd year shows huge improvements.

It’s really a great way to build the fan base. You sign these kids that traditionally May have wrestled at a lower level and get them into the room. Some may grow into starters. Some may be career room guys but it continues to build the interest in the program and puts butts in seats.
