I moved to St louis area a few months ago. I haven't been to a doctor here yet. I have been trying to find a doctor in the area and my provider wants me to go through its website and search for a doctor. Here is my question, as a 28 year old fairly active single man, do you guys think I should be going for a "general practice", "family practice", "internal medicine" doctor? Also, would you prefer to go to a DO as opposed to an MO? I have a general idea about their difference, but if someone wants to elaborate that will help out a lot!

Will you be getting regular paps? That makes a difference.

Where do you live in STL? I just moved from there. I might be able to reccomend hospital-affiliations to use or to avoid.

I live in Affton, near Shrewsberry/Webster Groves area. I went to a doctor on Jefferson Ave who is affiliated with St Alexas (spelling?) and it was a nightmare. I hate using the word but "GHETTO" (spelling?) would be too generous describe the facility AND professionalism.

And yeah, I usually don't get sick that often. However I would like to go for my annual phycial exam. I do want to go to a chiropractor quite a bit like I had been in Iowa. And I get hurt quite a bit playing ball.
