My buddies and I are driving out to Morgantown for the game, any advice on what we need to do would be appreciated. Also stopping in Canton on the way out to go to the HOF.

I've gone three times and every time the people in the Blue tailgate lot next to the stadium have been extremely nice. Pretty much get handed free jello shots/moonshine as you walk down the parking aisle. They also listen to Sweet Caroline a lot, but yell "Eat **** Pitt" instead of "Bum Bum Bum" which is fun to watch. If these folks are still tailgating, visit their tailgate, it's a fun time: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/an-invitation-to-tailgate-in-morgantown.232805/

Depending on where you are staying in Morgantown, there is a Personal Rapid Transit system that is great at getting you pretty close to the stadium and it is free on game days. There will be a long line to get on after the game but works great to get back downtown.

For after the game, visit the bars on High Street, it is kind of a mix between Main Street bars and Welch Ave.

Get on internet and locate old bar that is next to east side of campus. Been there a long time and is great place to go night before game. Get on the rail system that has 20 person cars that go all over campus. Good way to check out campus. Very hilly area (duh) and rail system is necessary as students would never be able to make it in time for classes from one end of campus to other end. Went to bar owned by Jedd Gyrko's brother short walk from stadium before and after game and was good choice. Gyrko played at WVU and was traded from Cards to Dodgers mid summer. Tailgating is next to stadium and is similar (maybe better) to Cyclone tailgating. People are very friendly and big thing is actual moonshine that they get from rural folks. We have been to most Big 8 and Big 12 stadiums and WVU is the closest to ISU we have seen. The state of WV is very rural and isolated, 5 cities of 30,000 and no major airports. They do not get tourists and are glad to see you. Pepperoni Rolls are a big local thing and every convenience store has them. Had a great time and would go back if given the opportunity which I would not say for most other Big 12 stadiums.

Last time I went I parked at a strip mall just north of the stadium. It was $20 and real easy to get in and out. Of course that was over Thanksgiving and it rained and or drizzled the whole game so the crowd wasn't the normal size. If you want to get something to eat or drink after the game there is a bar & grill called The Varsity Club right next to the stadium.
I didn't go downtown so I can't say anything personally but it sounds like people have had a good time before.

I'm not sure where in Morgantown to get top dollar for your tickets. WVU is a little down this year so don't go in with too high expectations. Good luck!

Blend in. I've been told these fans are worse than hoks. Buy some Billy Bob teeth and don't shower for a few days. Don't wear any cyclone gear. 9f8b10d3-06e0-4a4b-ab5e-5caf70815f72_1.06d86605388b710d5cdbb7b632fb36ec.jpeg

Actually not true at all. The WVU fans couldn't have been any friendlier and welcoming in my experience. Granted, that was among adults. The students might be a-holes to visitors.

Is there a general area for Iowa State Tailgating? And how early do they open the lots? Thanks in advance!

It looks like the DC, Indy, and Cincy clubs are partnering with a nearby bar to do a meet up before the game. Check the comments here for additional info:

If you want to walk around the blue lot there are lots of friendly tailgaters, I think they open early, never had a problem with them not being open at previous games when were there.

Had a great time in Morgantown. Hit the bars up the night before. Can't remember where we ate after the game, but it was very good food. We parked at the basketball stadium and walked over for the game; got offered lots of drinks on the walk.
