Care to elaborate on your statement about "I don’t think there’s any chance these [bats] get outlawed."

MLB tried to juice balls a few years ago - they might still be (not sure about that). Fans want offense. Multiple teams and players are using them and there's inklings going back to last year. I think if they were going to get banned, we would never have seen them

MLB baseballs are still juiced/wound tighter. My son and I did an experiment with regulation high school baseballs and some MLB balls.
He plays small college baseball and has some decent exit velo. We were in a cage with a HIT TRAX machine that measures exit velo. His top exit velo with a high school ball was 98. His average when barreling the high school baseball was around 95 to 96.
With the MLB baseballs, he hit 101 or better 3 times, and his average when barreling the ball was 99 to 100. I have never seen his exit velo higher than 98 with college or high school baseballs, at least in the cage with the Hit Trax machine.
The MLB wants some juice in the baseballs. More offense/more butts in the seats.

This is great insight

My guess is because they still adhere to the MLB rules on how long/heavy a bat should be. They currently don't have rules about width of parts of the bat. I'd be surprised if it changes since anyone can use them.

Of course, that's just a guess; I could be way off base (no pun intended).
