Minnesota Twins/Target Field Questions

I am interning up in the Twin Cities this summer and me being a Cleveland Indians fan, I wanted to catch my team in action at Target Field.

The series I am looking at is July 19-21, Friday Night, Saturday Evening, and Sunday Afternoon games. I wanna go to all three and watch the Indians sweep the Twins

But where should I sit? Is there a cheaper local place to get tickets, i.e. Giant Eagle and Acme (Grocery Stores) in Ohio sells cheap tickets in their stores. Is there an all you can eat and drink section like at Progressive Field? What should I know about parking/the area around the stadium? Anything else you think I should know?

Good questions.

My dad has season tickets for my entire childhood and then the first two years of Target Field so I know a few things about the Twins! Unless youa re in the Champion's Club (right behind the plate) there are no all-inclusive package. Your best bet for cheap seats are from a scalper the day of the game. Stubhub will have some good deals too. If you want a for-sure seat I think you can find noseblleds for about $15 bucks on the twins website. Because the Twins have stunk the past two years you can find tickets but be warned weekend games still can easily sell out.

Parking is a hassle there so if you can ride the light rail do it. It's fun and totally safe before and after Twins games because there are so many people on it. When it was built we parked at Fort Snelling (south of the cities) and rode it in for the experience. Otherwise you can park a few blocks away in downtown and walk there on a nice evening.

There are plenty of bars around the stadium but they can get expensive, although still cheaper than a beer in the game. Make sure to take a trip around the stadium because it is really nice.

If the twins season goes ad most expect you should be able to get cheap tickets from scalpers right before the game. As far as seats go, there aren't any bad ones. My personal favorite seats are in the home run bleachers in left field. They are cheap but very popular seats. In July I would avoid the upper deck in the outfield. It can get pretty toasty up there.

Good call about the light rail. Regarding parking, on weekends downtown street parking is free so the wife and I will often find a spot and walk through downtown to get there.

I would definitely try to get into the club section at least one game. The tickets are a little more, but that area is so incredibly well done. I have a buddy (cubs fan living in Kansas) who came to a game a couple years ago and when the game was over, he said the stadium was nice, but thought that Kauffman was just as good.

Then last year, he came up for another game and we sat in the club section - after the game he said that it was the coolest venue he's ever seen and can see why ESPN Magazine named target field as the #1 sports venue in all of professional sports.

Also, if you don't want to take the light rail (which is a good idea), I always park a little further away (5-6 blocks) and then walk. Parking is cheaper and you can get out of downtown faster too. McGladrey Plaza (was formerly Midwest Plaza) on the corner of Marquette & 8th Street is a very good ramp.

Do you mean champions club or legends club?

Champions Club is expensive and has unlimited food and drink and a club below with an amazing buffet. Legends club has padded seats and it's own food vending area and restrooms. You can find those tickets around $30-$40 if the Twins aren't playing well.

Parking isn't bad on weekends. There are 3 huge ramps connected via walkways.

I park about 20 blocks away at Indians games because there is $1 parking in the flats. I don't mind a walk.

Legends. Champions Club is absolutely incredible and if you get the chance, that would be awesome, but tickets are usually in the $300 range. My first game at Target field I was able to sit in the Champions club, 2nd row right behind home plate - it was awesome and the unlimited free food/beer wasn't too shabby either.



Legends club seats are usually in the $50 - $60 range, but you can get them from scalpers for a little less, usually.

Some buddies and I went this summer, and just walked up to the ticket window and bought nosebleeds the day of the game, I think they were like 23 bucks. They were playing the indians I believe.

I went to opening day and got GA tickets. I thought they were great because I wanted to see an inning from a different view each inning because the views are great everywhere. I would only do that for one game and then pick seats for the others. I think it's a great venue.

Maybe check with the company you have an internship with to see if they have tickets.
