There are ways to have sex and not father children out of the deal. $20k/month is outrageous, but it is definitely less than the courts would normally go after given his salary, as the article references. TBH, when all is said and done, he’s 248 million in MLB career earnings without a lot of tangible bonuses and whatever he has for endorsements.
Yes, 20k a month seems steep. Say it ends up being 30k a month with all the other possible factors. 30x12x18=6.5 million.
That’s 2.6% of his MLB earnings. That doesn’t seem that ridiculous from that point does it?
