Slight bias against Meyer at the beginning of the 2004 season aside(Flynn is my favorite player afterall)....
It's really a close call. Tate is very passionate on the field and I like that, but his emotions do get the best of him. Meyer can keep his composure.
Tate can throw one hell of a bullet pass, whereas Meyer's got the better lob pass/deep ball. Meyer's bullets are a bit too floaty at times.
Tate is mainly a pocket passer, but has surprising mobility when he has to. Meyer tends to wait too long before scrambling. Call me crazy, but I'm gonna give Tate a very slight edge in running with the ball. Unless it's an option, or designed run, then Meyer has the edge. But in terms of a play breaking down, and you have to move, I go Tate.
Meyer seems better throwing on the run than Tate.
I say put Flynn back at QB, then we wouldn't be having this debate.
Seriously though, I would have to go with Meyer. Blythe's height, and jumping ability, along with Meyer's lob throws give him a slight edge.
I think Flynn would fit better with Tate, as Tate can really throw the bullet, and Flynn's willing to take hits down the middle.
