After reading about the thread on Bowlsby's comments on the LHN which eventually turned into a conversation about streaming devices, I started doing some online comparisons of Chromecast, Apple TV, and the different Rokus. I currently just use my old Wii for streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime, but I want to be able to stream Cyclones.tv, and other video straight from my browser without having to hook up a cable. I use Firefox and don't plan to go back to Chrome anytime soon, so Chromecast wasn't really a viable option (and I can't stream Prime instant video through Chromecast). I also don't use any apple products, so that wasn't an option either.
I eventually stumbled across "MatchStick", which is apparently a company that's developing the first Firefox OS - based streaming stick. Their Kickstarter campaign became fully funded as of yesterday, with a reach goal of $450K. It sounds like these sticks are going to retail for $25, and will be available in February. I will definitely plan on pre-ordering one of these as soon as I can. What do you think?
