Marion Jones Must Return $700,000 For Doping

All of Marion Jones' results dating to September 2000, including her Olympic and world championship titles, were annulled Friday because of doping. Track and field's governing body also told her to return her estimated $700,000 in prize money from that period.

The International Association of Athletics Federation recommended that Jones' relay teammates be disqualified and lose their medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

This action really screws her relay teammates if they were clean. If one player on a baseball, football, or basketball team were guilty of doping should the entire team be penalized?

700K? I am guessing she does not have that anymore, so I see a bankruptcy filing in the near future. Of course since it is jus a governing body, they have no juristriction to make her pay it back, so then again, they may never see a dime.

It is a real messy situation because the individuals that now "move-up" due to Jones disqualifications are entitled to have their prize money upped. However, if Jones doesn't return the money its sounds like the athletes won't get any more money.
