Interesting, thanks. C would be useful if you wanted to get into game design or something like that. I know there's some C++ still in the Des Moines area but I rarely hear of it it's almost exclusively C# and Java and a splash of VB.net.

Java is much more marketable than C#, the Internet does not run on windows.

While the internet part may be true, most major companies do run on Windows. I am a programmer at a large corporation and almost exclusively build web/client apps in C#.
