Scrimmage notes from saturday ^^^^^^


ndsu has never played idaho st.

but has beaten Minnesota (big ten), Ball State in 06 (Mac Champ) and Central Michigan 07 (Mac Champ) . hopefully add Iowa State (big 12) to that list.
 
Things are looking good here in BISON Land. The team is progressing as hoped and confidence is starting to build for the opening game.

Looking back Mertens is a four year kind of QB. Walker started slow but got the full 4 year deal finishing as one of the best QBs in BISON Lore. Mertens is the same type of player. Last year was respectable but not outstanding. Its looking like he is going to make huge strides this season.

Oujuris emergance at running back is an interesting development. He is red shirted right now and we should probably keep him that way, but there are already comparisons to Lamar Gordon, great NDSU running back from the late 90s.

This is how UNI beat us 2 years ago. UNI was +4 in the turnover department that day, and won 24-13.

IMO, it would take something like +3/4 in turnovers for NDSU to have a chance. With yet another new offense being installed this year for ISU, it certainly could happen, but I really don't think it will. I think the likely outcome is ISU by 2+ touchdowns.

Thats how ISU beat SDSU so handily as well. SDSU had 5 turnovers.
 
Did the Cyclones have a scrimmage on Sat?
Any ISU fans go to the scrimmage??.....How did they look?

Offense have some big plays??

How did the defense do??

Yeah they did. It was closed to the public.
According to the interviews with the coaches, it sounded like a fairly standard first scrimmage of the fall. Mistakes here and there, some rustiness at trying to go game speed. Defense had some interceptions. Didn't really go into details as far as big plays, etc.

Whether I like it or not is irrelavent. I just think it looks pathetic and stupid for someone from ISU to engage with a fan from a team a couple of years removed from Division II.

Given ISU's recent FB success, maybe I should rethink my stance.

Then don't open the thread, lakesbison is obviously flamin and talking smack, it comes with territory, if he's going to come here and do that then he should expect it right back.

If someone comes on to this board and starts spouting off about how their insignificant program is going work our FB team, I'm not going to take that lying down. I'm glad you're such a pushover though. Do you let people walk all over you in all aspects of your life, or just in relation to your fanhood toward ISU?

If a seven year old starts calling me names I usually ignore it. I guess I'm just a pushover.

Still looks pathetic and stupid.
