My in-laws have a 32 inch Magnavox TV. It started flickering on/off a few days ago and finally gave out and won't turn on now at all. So they went and got a new one and gave me the tv. So if I can get it fixed I can keep it. Anyone know what the problem might be or where I should take a TV nowadays? Do people still work on LCD tvs?

Is there any red light on the tv that indicates whether or not it is on or off?

I have a 19 inch Samsung in our kitchen and it quit working and found youtube videos about the capacitors going bad. I figured out which ones were bad and replaced them and works like new.

Weird thing...the red light is always on. Won't go off. No picture or anything but the red light is on. It won't turn off either unless you unplug it.

Yeah that is how it is with most TV's, that means it's not a power problem.
