Lattimer arrested last night

Well theres a few that aren't. A very very VERY small percentage of cops aren't total Dbags, and actually have respect for rights.

I'd actually make that opposite, I'd say a majority of cops are good cops, with the minority giving a bad rep for every good cop because you hear and see the stuff the bad cops do compared to what the good cops do.

But continue to be naive.

bahahahahaha, turns out i have things going on and don't sit around on CF waiting for the nerds to respond.

Yeah, but you did wear the t-shirt of the band that you went to see.....Don't be "thatguy"

Great news. Wow, we need Lattimer next season. I hope that his actions really weren't as bad as what I have read in the news, and he will be able to play next season.

(If it was something like an innocent push away, just defending his buddy if he thought the cop/peace officer was acting too aggressive, etc... still, it's wrong to do that to the officer, especially if you have been drinking but if it was something minor like that....pretty weak. - Now, if it was a very agressive move by Latt....he could be in some trouble. It just depends now on what really happened and the AD and the FB program will need to look at all actions.)

Again, just great. We need D-Linemen in the worst way next season for the type of sched. we play. As for Howard, that was not a good move either, obviously. Use your head's for the remainder of the year guys-

You won't get charged for cussing at a cop, but an inadvertent or light touching would result in an Assault on a Peace Officer charge.

It's possible he attempted/did beat up on a cop, but the odds are that he made minimal physical contact and it's being overcharged.

Maybe you won't get charged but they can still arrest you and hold you. Basically make life miserable for you for a short period of time. I'd like to see somebody go up to a cop and start cussing at him to find out what actually happens. In the end you may not get charged but you will have a less then pleasent experience.

Another thing to remember is that Cops lie.

Trust me, they don't arrest someone for serious assault on an officer and interference with official acts because he/she drops an F-bomb. I am very concerned.

Yes, they do. If you are so much in the vicinity, and they 'think' you are an aquaintance of the defendant. Sometimes it is a matter of 'better safe than sorry' for the police officers, which is probably smart on their part. I will wait to see how the charges pan out.

Sorry but saying "F U" and then "Leave us the F alone" will get you both charges. So will tripping and touching an officer with the tip of your finger. Hopefully a slight bump. Not too worried, yet.

+1. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, consider yourself cuffed and stuffed. Its a saftey issue with pd, which is not a bad plan, but it sucks, and it can make your life hectic for a while.

Exactly, not to mention both of these charges are hard to prove in court and usually a waste of money. They are usually just an excuse to diffuse a situation that might turn ugly and take the guy in to cool down a little. I'm guessing 1 or both charges will be dropped.

I still believe they will receive some form of suspension, regardless. Most likely spring game or UNI game.

You can get arrested for swearing at an officer, but not just swearing usually. Often the officer will warn you to leave and keep moving. If you don't you can be charged with interfering with an official act.

Nick, have you ever been arrested? Didn't think so. Do us all a favor and shut the F up because you don't know squat. Here's a hint: you won't learn it in a book. I tell you what, if you really want to know how the system works I will tell you in person; just buy me lunch someday and I will astound you with my story. One caveat, check the attitude at the door and open your ears. In other words, you have to want to listen and to learn. Pick a date/time and I'm there. Your treat. Send me a private message.

Great post. Book vs Street. Probably film worthy. Go get him RB.

You're dead on here. I have seen many, many occasions where police report something on a police report that is completely at odds with video and audio evidence. They make up reasons to exercise force, and to effectuate stops.

Fall of 2009 4 buddies and I are driving down to College Station for the A&M football game. Cop pulls us over in Kiowa, OK. Says he pulled us over because my license plate light was out and that he wants to search the car. We tell him he can, and he starts and then realizes that his shift is almost over and he wants to go home.

We pull over a mile down the road to check whether or not the light was out. It wasn't. He was just pulling us over in hopes of finding something illegal, which is blatantly unconstitutional. I almost wish wed've had a ton of pot or something like that so I could have represented myself pro se and got the stop suppressed.

If we had told him he couldn't search the car (totally within our rights) he would have been able to hold us, call in some drug dogs and waste 2 hours of our time just because he ******* felt like it.

You seriously question whether Lattimer will be on the team next season?
