Laptop Help

My wife dropped the laptop yesterday afternoon and the screen now is very dark, you can barely see anything. I have another laptop that is the exact same model and wanted to know if I could switch the monitors between the two and see if that would get the computer up and working again.

Anyone else have other suggestions?

that would most likely work out. What is wrong is the backlight went out. These can usually be replaced.

hook it up to an external monitor to see if it works.
